The Historical Heart of Calistoga

Sam Brannan built the depot in 1868 to welcome guests to Calistoga's unique splendors. As the second-oldest train depot in California, and the culmination of the Napa Valley rail line, the building occupies a special place in town lore.

Explore Train Car Experiences

Our remodeled train cars, dating back to the 1800s, house a remarkable range of experiences. These include the Parlor Car, a sparkling wine and caviar salon; Casa Obsidiana, offering fine Mexican dining and tequila; the First Millionaires' Saloon, an authentic spirits bar worthy of Sam Brannan himself; and the Calistoga Depot Wine & Spirits Merchant, featuring a curated collection of wines and luxury spirits.

Embark on a journey through Oaxacan flavors.  With vibrant decor and authentic food, this train offers a taste of contemporary Mexico in a unique setting.

Highlighting this experience is the Casa Obsidiana Tequila.  Crafted at the base of el Volcán de Tequila, it honors the true culture of Mexico and connects through the rare power of the volcano’s ancient stone, the obsidian.  Choose from Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo.

Samuel Brannan, the visionary behind Calistoga, built a distillery - a fitting tribute to the region. Infused with Branan's passion of the artistry of premium barrel aging, the Calistoga Depot Distillery has evolved into a destination where patrons can relish ultra-premium spirits finished in our Boisset wine barrels - a testament to Brannan's legacy and the confluence of craftsmanship.
